Women in STEM

Video resources for parents and educators to introduce all children to South African role models in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths)

Meet a STEM Role Model!

Play Africa’s #womeninstem video series includes child-friendly interviews with a range of women scientists. These videos can be used by parents and educators to teach children about various fields of science, inspiring a new generation of scientists and innovators. We bring the excitement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to South African children of different backgrounds, ages and abilities. Everyone can become a scientist!

Many educators and parents tell us they want to use play to help introduce children to STEM skills, and awareness of the changing world around them, but often don’t know where to start. We help educators and parents learn how to enliven and enrich their early learning with playful STEM centres, using easy-to-find, everyday materials.

Together with educators and parents, we can help build critical skills for a changing world. Let’s empower children and educators to build STEM skills and climate change awareness through play!
