Play Africa is empowering science teachers in rural and peri-urban South Africa to promote STEM equity and combat misinformation about science and scientific findings through its REAL SCIENCE programme and have announced a nationwide call to educators.
The nationwide call is open to all educators particularly interested in promoting STEM learning and climate change awareness, teaching grades 3-7 in a rural or peri-urban based school in South Africa.
Play Africa’s Real Science Fellowship is a programme at advancing science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) education and climate change awareness, and designed to bridge the inequality gap in science learning, and leverage science knowledge and findings to bring transformative science learning to the classroom.
The Fellowship is for educators of children from ages 8-12 years, and shall equip participants with:
1| Capacity strengthening through free virtual training workshops
2| Science at Home booklets and materials.
Space is limited, only 45 Fellows will be selected from all 9 provinces of South Africa.
