Play Africa, located at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein, is offering a 12-month Play & Learning Facilitator Internship. As a Play & Learning Facilitator intern, you will learn new skills while you provide daily staffing of our children’s museum exhibits, programs, and special events.
Your role will include engaging with children, parents and caregivers in a play and learning experience that extends the museum’s offerings. You’ll also be responsible for creating and maintaining a physical environment that is safe, comfortable, welcoming, and engaging for both adults and children.
As a BBBEE skills development initiative, this opportunity is only available to candidates who meet the stipulated qualifying criteria.
To be eligible, you must be between the ages of 18-34 years, be a South African citizen with a valid ID, have a minimum qualification of matric, have never held a full-time position before or have been unemployed for at least 6 months.
Applicants must have stamina and physical endurance to set up and break down exhibits and be engaging on the Play Africa floor most of the day, maintaining quality interaction with visitors. You should also have excellent communication skills and be fluent in English.
This is a 40-hour week position that often includes weekdays and weekends and/or public holidays. As a Play Africa staff member, you will be expected to demonstrate professionalism and accountability, maintain a high standard of ethics, integrity, confidentiality, and have a willingness to learn new skills.
