From 15–21 June 2024, Play Africa partnered once again with the Ithemba Upliftment Foundation to deliver a customised, play-based holiday programme for children living in the Jewel City precinct. Over the six-day programme, we were proud to welcome and engage 748 children through a variety of meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
The programme was designed to create a safe, joyful, and stimulating space for children during the school holidays, combining free play, creative arts, STEM exploration, and socially themed activities tailored to different age groups. Each day offered a fresh opportunity for children to learn through play, build confidence, and express themselves in an environment that encourages curiosity and imagination.
This continued partnership with the Ithemba Upliftment Foundation highlights the power of collaboration in creating accessible learning opportunities for inner-city children. We are grateful to the dedicated facilitators, caregivers, and community partners who helped make the June 2024 programme a success.
